Lenehan Chest
This classic Australian solid cedar chest was first made in the Castlereagh Street, Sydney cabinetmaking workshop of Australia's most famous colonial cabinetmaker, Andrew Lenehan.
In 1856 Lenehan was commissioned to refurnish Sydney's Government House for Governor Denison, and most of the furniture he crafted is still used in Government House today.
The Colonial Living Lenehan Chest has five graduated drawers and makes a clear design statement. It brings together function and beauty without the incorporation of extraneous decoration. These graduated drawers offer flexible storage space.
Colonial Living's re-creation is made from solid cedar with traditional strong dovetailed drawers, hand-turned feet and knobs.

Joseph Sly Table with Fitted Mirror
Originally made by Joseph Sly Circa 1859
The Sly Table is a recreation of an original Australian cedar table made by Sydney's quality cabinet-maker Joseph Sly, 140 years ago.
Connoisseurs of Colonial furniture can recognise his pieces by his characteristic style of leg turning, which Colonial Living recreate. This precise detail can only be captured by practiced and skillful hands.
The Joseph Sly Dressing Table features an elegant toilet mirror. This toilet mirror can be purchased separately, which shows the dressing tables versatility.

Low Four Poster Bed
The Low Four Poster was the classical Australian bed. It was designed and made by the first Australian cabinet-makers for the prestigious colonial homes of our pioneering families. Treasured originals can be seen in National Trust Homes.
It was not until the development of mechanised manufacturing during the 1860's that the mass production of brass and iron beds began.
The Low Four Poster was also called the French Bed or the Farm House Bed.

Two Door Wardrobe With Plinth Base and Cornice
In the colonial times there were no wardrobes as such. Presses were used with wide drawers and shelves. This piece has been designed from a press with hanging space instead of drawers.
This is a classically beautiful and elegant wardrobe to complement any bedroom, featuring crown moulding pediment, either with full hanging space, or with hat shelf or half drawer.

Blanket Box
There is a tradition from our childhood of owning a single chest in which we kept our toys. Such a tradition was later extended when this type of storage was utilised in the bedroom.
The Colonial Living Blanket Box is designed on traditional links. The solid cedar hinged lid opens to allow easy access to the commodious interior. The simple but functional decorative elements are the solid brass carrying handles to the sides and the plinth surround at the base allowing for extra storage. Other usages for this piece is as a coffee table and general storage unit.
