bubeewrap™ was conceptualized during one of the 4 AM feeds. She was a wriggly little one and kept managing to get herself unwrapped. As a result, I would wake up to settle her, what would seem to be, every 2 hours and find myself wrapping her differently each time (perhaps it was the lack of sleep). It was then that I figured there has to be an easier way. After a month, the first bubeewrap prototype was borne. My little girl was still wriggly but this time she couldn’t escape. Both my husband and I were now wrapping her the same way every time.

I had but one goal that one cool morning at 4 AM, half asleep and exhausted while breastfeeding my beautiful little girl. SLEEP. One night of uninterrupted sleep would have been a great gift but I knew it was too soon. However the extra couple of hours were just as fine.

We took bubeewrap™ to a Baby Show in 2009 to gauge the market's reaction. It would be a critical juncture for the bubeewrap™ team. It was nerve-wracking to say the least but it was exciting at the same time. We demonstrated bubeewrap™ on 'live' babies for 3 days and it turned out to be fabulous. We sold over 300 units and received wonderful feedback from mothers, grandmothers, aunts, fathers. As a result, improvements were incorporated into bubeewrap™ and we introduced new colours.

This is one of the most exciting times for bubeewrap™ and we couldn't be more appreciative of all those who supported this endeavour.

It has been a humbling experience and we are grateful for those who believed. And as you can see below, the hard work has really paid off. bubeewrap™ has been nominated in the AusMumpreneur Awards for product innovation.
