Way ahead of their time, the owners imported furniture from Italy the likes of which no one had ever seen.Timeless lounge chairs from Le Corbusier, Eames and Arne Jacobsen; sofas by Cassina, Zanotta and Philippe Starck were juxtaposed with tables by Carson and Noguchi.
Over the years, the competition grew. It was becoming clear that their clients were no longer prepared to pay enormous prices for these designer originals.
It took a year visiting manufacturers in Europe and Asia to finally find some who could faithfully reproduce, in every detail, the furniture Design Warehouse customers had grown to know and love. These replicas have been welcomed to the Design Warehouse collections and now sit alongside the Italian originals.
