Picture a factory nestled in these rice fields of Klaten in Java. This is where beautiful modern furniture created with the influences of South East Asia are manufactured by a team of local villagers skilled as professional woodworkers and cabinetmakers produce the unique items exclusively for Semara.
After many years of travelling the world looking for ideas, John & Maree McSweyn have created a concept that takes you on a journey and transfers you to far off lands as you enter one of our Semara outlets. As you walk through the door, you are engulfed in the atmosphere created by the burning incense, the many handicrafts and homewares, the colours, the fragrant candles, the artwork and stonecraft, and the unique furniture and concepts that help you recreate this into your own home.
Semara own and operate a large factory in Java, Indonesia. This enables us to produce items at the very affordable prices you will notice in our outlets, yet still be mindful of the environment by using only plantation timbers and recycled teaks. It also enables us to be exclusive in our range, so a visit to Semara is a unique experience. We have many regular customers that just love stopping in every few weeks to see all the new stock arrivals and to again breathe in the atmosphere. One visit to Semara is never enough. And don’t expect to walk in for 5 minutes. You will be amazed how time just disappears as you wander and browse the many interesting pieces throughout the store.
Semara caters for all your home decorating and interior designs in many finishes and timbers including mahogany, teak and white wash. In dining we have chairs, tables, consoles, buffets and hallstands. The living room we have TV units, coffee tables, lounges, lamp tables. For the bedroom we have bedroom suites, bedsides, beds, mattresses, chest of drawers and tallboys. Outdoor is catered as well with many daybeds from old recycled teak, stone statues, benches, lanterns and water features. And so much more, too many to list here!
The gallery displays many items, all available through your local Semara outlet. Although not all items can be in stock, most items can be priority ordered and delivered in 6 - 12 weeks. I am sure it will be worth waiting for your special piece to be created just for you!!
